Happy Birthday Liz

People say the first couple of years will contain landmarks that remind you of your loved one,

I've certainly had a few in the last 3 months - The Boat Race - Which Liz Loved Watching, The Grand National - Where Liz would always have had a bet, The Cherry Tree in our garden laden with fruit (Liz planted it) and her garden springing into life after the winter and the list of these small things go on and on, reminding us of the impact Liz had on all our lives and the hole it has left.

I guess Liz's Birthday is a big first for me, as Liz absolutely loved her birthday and would be like a child waiting for morning to come (4am normally) when she could open her presents.

"Trinkets & Baubles" she always used to say and loved every present that was bought for her, small or large. For Liz the beauty was always that someone had thought well enough of her to buy her something not what was actually bought.

I must also just share a poignant moment I had the other day when tidying our "wet room" where the freezer, tumble dryer and odds and sods live. I found a metal plaque that Liz bought to put up on the wall that never quite made the journey.

The plaque said

Always Remember
You are Braver than you believe
Stronger than you seem
Smarter than you think
and Loved more than you know.

We all miss you Liz and for all of us there will be constant reminders of how much you meant to all your friends and family and you are still loved more than you know.
